My mother suffered that condition for a few years before her passing 4 years ago. It was very hard for me the first moment when she did not know who I was. But it was also very beautiful and I cherish in my heart those few moments where she knew who she was talking to, she would get very excited and start laughing and crying at the same time while telling everyone in the room that she was talking to her daughter Patricia ?? Sometimes I would say 'Mom, we have been talking for over an hour' and she would say 'yes, I know, but I had not idea it was you my dear Patita' and then she would sing with me... For a long time I lived for those moments. I had to learn on the way how to talk to her and not make her frustrated or confused... I wish I had known and done more. Enjoy those you love ??
