SUMMARY:Aspire Book Club + Movie Night - "The Secret Life of Bees"
DESCRIPTION:Why just read the book when you can watch the movie too!? We will be meeting on Friday\, November 8th at Lisa's home to discuss & watch "The Secret Life Of Bees" - and you're invited to join us!\n\n\n\nWe'll start the evening with a potluck & "wine down" social time (BYOB)\, followed by a discussion of the book\, and then we'll watch the People's Choice Award-winning movie together after. Read the book (or at least as much as you can) in advance of the book club\, as we will be discussing all chapters. This month there's no fee for Aspire members to attend - we just ask that you bring an entree or snack to share with the group instead.\n\n\n\nBe sure to bring your favorite cozy blanket and snack to share as we dive in to this month's Aspire Book Club book (and movie!) "The Secret Life of Bees" by Sue Monk Kidd.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Book:\n\n\n\n"Set in South Carolina in 1964\, The Secret Life of Bees tells the story of Lily Owens\, whose life has been shaped around the blurred memory of the afternoon her mother was killed. When Lily's fierce-hearted black "stand-in mother\," Rosaleen\, insults three of the deepest racists in town\, Lily decides to spring them both free. They escape to Tiburon\, South Carolina--a town that holds the secret to her mother's past. Taken in by an eccentric trio of black beekeeping sisters\, Lily is introduced to their mesmerizing world of bees and honey\, and the Black Madonna. This is a remarkable novel about divine female power\, a story women will share and pass on to their daughters for years to come." - GoodReads.com\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThere is no cost for Aspire members\, non-members are welcome to attend for a small fee ($5) \n\n\n\nPLEASE RSVP!\n\n\n\nWe would love to be prepared for you.\n\n\n\nJoin us at Aspire Plant City's Book Club as we venture through this book together!\n\n\n\nAspire Book Club Host: Lisa Rhodes
