SUMMARY:8th Annual Florida Agricultural Policy Outlook Conference
DESCRIPTION:The UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics Department is thrilled to announce that it will be hosting the 8th Annual Florida Agricultural Policy Outlook Conference on Thursday\, March 2nd from 9:00 am - 4:30 pm at the UF/IFAS Gulf Coast Research and Education Center in Wimauma\, FL. This year's conference will examine critical policy issues facing Florida agribusiness leaders and provide valuable economic insights which will be helpful for making informed business and policy decisions. Attendees will be provided with agricultural policy information important to the agricultural industry\, natural resource management organizations and associations\, policymakers\, and researchers. Attendees can choose to partcipate in person for $50\, which includes a catered lunch\, or virtually for $30. In the morning\, we will cover International\, Federal\, and State-Level Agricultural Policy and the Upcoming Farm Bill. Speakers include: John Walt Boatright\, Director of Government Affairs\, American Farm Bureau Federation Courtney Larkin\, State Legislative Affairs Director\, Florida Farm Bureau Dr. John Newton\, Chief Economist\, US Senate Committee on Agriculture\, Nutrition & Forestry Dr. Suzanne Thornsbury\, Professor\, UF/IFAS Food and Resource Economics Department Dr. Keith Fuglie\, Economist\, USDA Economic Research Service This year\, we will run two concurrent afternoon sessions on the topics of production and environmental and economic management.
